Jeff Biege is a long time nature and ocean enthusiast who started snorkeling and body boarding in the waters off of southern California at age 10. A lifetime of adventure sports including surfing, kite surfing, free diving, and paddle boarding have helped too develop a deep connection to the ocean. Jeff has traveled to 28 countries and surfed every major ocean. Always interested in art, music, photography and creativity as a form of self expression. Jeff started playing guitar at age 16 and played in several bands in his early 20s. In 2007 picking up a camera was a natural progression of the creative act and getting into the water soon after was a natural step. As Jeff's photography progressed he honed his skills in many types of photography, from portrait work, weddings, commercial , landscape and in 2015 was able to pursue fine art imagery full time.
Jeff's lifetime in the ocean and seeing the changes that were taking place inevitably led him to non profit and conservation work. Joining the Surfrider Foundation in the mid 90s the problems with plastic pollution and water quality issues on local beaches were just starting to be felt in Florida. Jeff's focus now with his imagery is to highlight the beauty of the ocean and create art, while bringing environmental issues to the surface and helping to educate people about what's going on in our beautiful oceans. Working with conservation groups in Florida and Hawaii has allowed Jeff to use his images as a powerful tool to raise awareness and educate the public on what we can all do to ensure a healthy planet for future generations.
